Snacking Does Not Have To Be Bad!Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids

When it comes to kids snacks, you want something that will keep them going at full speed, but also is healthy for them to eat. Making healthy snacks all the time can be tough, but this easy recipe can be a great healthy snack for you to give your kids.  (And it’s good for adults also)

Cinnamon Raisin Fruit Roll Ups

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups of natural or golden raisins
  • 1 pear, peeled and cut into smaller pieces
  • 2 cups of water
  • 3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • Wax paper
  • A food processor or blender

  • Place the raisins and chopped pears in a large bowl while you bring the water to a boil.
  • Place the fruit in the boiling water and boil for about 20 minutes (or until the raisins are plump), stirring occasionally.
  • Remove ¾ cup of liquid, add cinnamon, and continue to mix ingredients in the remaining liquid.
  • Blend the fruit and cinnamon in a blender or food processor until it becomes a paste or thick puree.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pour the mixture onto cookie sheets lined with wax paper, spreading it thin with a spoon.
  • Bake for 2 ½ -3 hours, checking periodically after 2 ½ hours to see if the fruit peels away from the wax paper easily. Remove from oven, cut into one-inch strips, roll them up and store the fruit rolls in an airtight container.
